Privacy Policy

Last updated June 16, 2026

1. Who we are

FlagPole is made by Westerby Labs, LLC ("we," "us"). This policy covers the FlagPole iOS app and the website at flagpoleapp.com. If you have a question about any of it, write to [email protected].

2. The short version

FlagPole does not ask you to make an account. The flag you design and the reminders you set live on your device. We work with a small number of trusted services to run the business: to fix crashes, to understand where app installs come from, and to handle subscriptions. On this website, we use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that sets no cookies, and we keep the email you give us if you join the launch list. We do not sell your personal information. The rest of this page is the detail.

3. What the app collects

Your settings stay on your device

The flag, frame, and size you choose, and whether you turn on reminders, are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not keep a copy of them on a server, and there is no login or profile.

Attribution and app analytics (AppsFlyer)

We use AppsFlyer to understand how people find FlagPole, for example which ad or link led to an install, and to measure ad conversions and broad in-app events such as completing a purchase. AppsFlyer may process device identifiers (the Identifier for Vendors, and the Advertising Identifier where you have allowed it through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt), install and attribution data, your IP address, and general device and event information. You can read AppsFlyer's practices in their privacy policy.

Crash and diagnostic reports (Sentry)

When something in the app breaks, Sentry sends us a diagnostic report so we can fix it. These reports can include the type of device, the operating system and app version, and technical details about what went wrong. They are used to keep the app working, not to identify you. See Sentry's privacy policy.

Subscriptions and purchases (RevenueCat and Apple)

When you subscribe, Apple handles the payment, and we use RevenueCat to manage subscription and purchase status, including a randomly generated app user identifier, your purchase and restore history, and the current state of your subscription. We never see your card details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.

App Tracking Transparency

Apple requires your permission before an app can use the Advertising Identifier to measure your activity across other companies' apps and websites. FlagPole asks through Apple's standard App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you are free to decline. If you do, attribution still works in a more limited, privacy-preserving way. You can change your answer at any time in your iPhone's Settings under Privacy & Security.

Reminders and notifications

Flag-day reminders are optional and off until you turn them on. They are scheduled to arrive on the mornings that matter and can be switched off at any time in iOS Settings. We do not sell or share the fact that you use them.

4. What this website collects

Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and sets no cookies. It gives us aggregate counts such as page views and rough referrer and country information. It does not build a profile of you or follow you around the web. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The launch list

If you give us your email to be notified when FlagPole launches, we store that email so we can write to you once, when the app is available, and to send the occasional related update if you stay on the list. We keep it in our own Cloudflare storage, we do not sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to [email protected].

Hosting and security

This site is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes basic request information, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

5. How we use it

  • To run and improve FlagPole, and to keep it from crashing.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the app and this site.
  • To process and manage subscriptions.
  • To tell you when the app launches, if you asked us to.
  • To protect against fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that make FlagPole work, each acting on our behalf and under their own privacy terms: AppsFlyer, Sentry, RevenueCat, Apple, and Cloudflare. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others. If the business is ever sold or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that, and we will say so here.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information.

If you are in the EEA or the UK (GDPR)

You may request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability, and you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on your consent for advertising attribution (given through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt) and for the launch-list email, each of which you can withdraw at any time, on our legitimate interest in fixing crashes and keeping the service secure, and on the performance of a contract when you buy a subscription.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA)

You may ask what categories of personal information we collect, request a copy, and request deletion, and we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information. Some sharing for attribution and ad-conversion measurement may be considered "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising" under California law; you can opt out by declining Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt in the app, or by emailing [email protected].

To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

8. Children

FlagPole is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. In the EEA and the UK, where a higher minimum age can apply under local law, FlagPole is likewise not directed to anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, write to us and we will delete it.

9. Where data is processed

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for: attribution data for the length of the relevant measurement window, crash reports while they remain useful for fixing bugs, subscription records for the life of the subscription and as needed for tax and accounting, and launch-list emails until you ask us to remove yours. Settings stored on your device last until you delete the app.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we handle, and we work with established providers who do the same. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

12. Changes

We may update this policy as the app and the business change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top, and for significant changes we will make a clearer note here.

13. Contact

Questions, requests, or corrections: [email protected], Westerby Labs, LLC.
